Description

You will lead the design, buildout, and management of next-generation data centers that power SpaceX's engineering, production, and mission operations. This hands-on role involves overseeing a team of IT and facilities engineers, ensuring 99.999% uptime, driving automation, and collaborating across teams to align data center evolution with SpaceX's long-term roadmap.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5+ years data center leadership, or 8+ years IT infrastructure leadership with hands-on data center experience.
• 7+ years leading hyperscale data center design/construction, critical facilities management, enterprise server/storage infrastructure, or high-availability operations.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs unassisted for racking equipment and facilities tasks.
• Willingness to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and travel to data center sites.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, buildout, and management of next-gen data centers including site selection, capacity planning, power infrastructure, and cooling systems.
• Oversee facilities services (HVAC, power, fire suppression, environmental monitoring) for 99.999% uptime.
• Build and develop a team focused on virtualization, high-performance storage, and servers for HPC/AI.
• Drive high-availability architectures, disaster recovery, and multi-site failover.
• Implement infrastructure-as-code, automation, and DCIM tools for proactive operations.
