Description

You will lead the assembly, integration, and testing of novel optical systems for spaceborne platforms, working with suppliers and cross-functional teams to mature prototypes into products. Your work directly supports national security by delivering advanced imaging capabilities to warfighters.

Requirements

• BS in Engineering or Physics with concentration in Optics
• 5+ years experience with complex opto-mechanical systems assembly, integration, and testing
• Strong experience with free space optical systems for space or airborne environments
• Knowledge of electro-optical system specification, development, manufacturing, and testing
• Experience with optical design and analysis software (Zemax or CODE V)

Responsibilities

• Lead assembly, integration, and test of novel optical systems
• Manage optical suppliers and procurement of optical elements
• Generate alignment plans and align optical systems using autocollimators, theodolites, interferometers, etc.
• Develop test setups and procedures to transition products from R&D to production
• Analyze optical system performance errors and determine root cause
