Description

You will develop cutting-edge next-generation photonic integrated circuits (PICs) for Starlink satellites and ground infrastructure, enabling global connectivity. As part of a cross-disciplinary team, you'll design, simulate, and characterize optical building blocks and contribute to the Starlink network's performance and capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science.
• 5+ years of photonics or electro-optical integrated circuit design.
• Experience with simulation tools (Lumerical, COMSOL, HFSS).
• Familiarity with RF, analog, and mixed signal circuits.
• Ability to work long hours and weekends as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Design and simulate optical building blocks (MZM, Microring modulators, Ge photodiodes, filters, couplers) in silicon photonics and InGaAs/InP platforms.
• Derive specifications for photonic IC systems and circuits.
• Design and model package optical interfaces (edge coupler, grating couplers).
• Perform IC floor planning and layout.
• Evaluate, characterize, and measure electrical/optical building blocks of high-speed optical links.
