Description

As the Engineering Manager of the Client Products & Emerging Tech team at Airbnb, you will lead a team that creates innovative product frameworks and features for guests and hosts across multiple platforms, leveraging emerging technologies. You will collaborate with design, product, and other engineering teams to brainstorm, prototype, and deliver high-quality product experiences that have real impact on Airbnb's global community.

Requirements

• 9+ years of industry experience with 5+ years of people management experience, including managing technical leads
• Strong product and design instinct, with proven experience building delightfully designed consumer experiences
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with experience influencing diverse stakeholders
• Flexible leadership style adaptable to various ways of working
• Experience leading and delivering large initiatives with significant business impact
• Committed to fostering operational excellence with focus on quality, reliability, and availability
• Success in developing teams to perform at their fullest potential
• Past hands-on experience with iOS, Android, and/or Frontend Web UI development
• Good judgment in making tradeoffs between short-term business needs and long-term technical quality
• Experience fostering an inclusive and engaging team environment
• Able to identify, retain, grow and acquire critical talent

Responsibilities

• Establish a vision for the team and explore, shape, and develop new product experiences alongside cross-functional partners
• Collaborate with product, design, and other stakeholders to identify and document requirements
• Strengthen partnerships with Engineering, Design, and Product to make ambitious product features a reality
• Lead investments into new technical capabilities that unlock product innovation
• Plan and sequence delivery of new features and capabilities, making trade-offs and communicating plans
• Partner with peer engineering teams to integrate new features
• Recruit and nurture exceptional engineering talent through one-on-one time and career development plans
• Foster an inclusive team culture encouraging collaboration, technical excellence, and innovation
