Description
In this role, you will inspect structural steel fabrication and field erection for large bridge projects, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, and QA/QC programs. You'll work in fabrication shops and construction sites on complex bridge systems.
Requirements
- Experience as a structural steel bridge inspector on complex projects
- Knowledge of welding procedures, bolting, and material certification
- Familiarity with fracture-critical members, cable stressing, and protective coatings
- Ability to work in fabrication shops and active construction sites
Responsibilities
- Inspect structural steel fabrication and field erection activities
- Verify weld procedures, welder qualifications, and material traceability
- Inspect bridge superstructure systems including decks, bearings, and post-tensioning
- Ensure compliance with shop drawings, specs, codes, and QA/QC plans
