💼 About This Role

You'll join a small focused team to build and scale Aiven's managed ClickHouse service. Your work will power database lifecycle operations for thousands of customers using Python and modern DevOps practices. You'll have the chance to shape the technical direction of a widely-used product while working on real distributed systems challenges.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design and maintain backend services in Python for ClickHouse lifecycle
• Work with CI/CD pipelines to ship code reliably and often
• Investigate and resolve production issues across the full stack
• Contribute to technical planning and roadmap within the team

📋 Requirements

• Solid Python development skills with async patterns (asyncio, aiohttp)
• Strong understanding of relational and analytical databases
• Deep Linux knowledge (systemd, process management, filesystem internals)
• CI/CD experience with Buildkite or GitHub Actions

✨ Nice to Have

• ClickHouse operational experience or query optimization
• C++ or C ability to read and contribute to database engine code
• Cloud infrastructure experience with Terraform (AWS, GCP, Azure)
