As a Sr.Staff Back-end Engineer at Coupang Pay, you will architect and build high-scale distributed payment systems powering millions of transactions daily. You'll lead technical teams, drive innovation with AI/ML, and ensure fast, reliable delivery of fintech solutions across Korea.

Requirements

• 12-15+ years software engineering experience in large-scale distributed systems
• Deep expertise in full-stack development (Java, Go, Python, TypeScript)
• Hands-on microservices, event-driven systems, and API design
• Strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, and concurrency
• Bachelor's in CS or related field

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement complex distributed cloud-native systems
• Write and review production-grade code; optimize for performance and reliability
• Own large-scale payment microservices and event-driven pipelines
• Drive adoption of AI/ML technologies into payment workflows
• Mentor senior engineers and foster technical excellence
