Description

You will process release of information requests while maintaining strict HIPAA compliance and patient privacy. This role involves retrieving patient charts, validating authorizations, and performing quality checks to ensure accurate and confidential disclosures.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in HIM and/or Release of Information
• 5+ years experience with EHR processing (Meditech and/or Epic)
• Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Complete release-of-information requests by retrieving patient charts, scanning and transmitting records
• Validate requests and authorizations for release of medical information
• Perform quality checks on all work to ensure accuracy and confidentiality
• Handle all requests for patient health information via mail, fax, phone, or in person
• Serve as subject matter expert for complex PHI requests
