💼 About This Role

You'll own and lead the design of critical backend services for Confluent's data streaming platform. Your work will directly impact reliability and scalability of services used across the industry. You'll act as a technical leader, mentoring engineers and driving architecture decisions.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design and implement complex backend services in a cloud-native microservices environment.
• Make architecture decisions balancing reliability, scalability, and operability.
• Drive projects end-to-end from requirements through production operation.
• Collaborate across teams to define APIs, integration points, and data models.

📋 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and operating backend systems in production.
• Deep proficiency in Java, Go, C/C++, or Python.
• Hands-on experience with distributed systems like event-driven architectures or large-scale data pipelines.
• Experience running services in a public cloud (AWS, GCP, or Azure) with Docker and Kubernetes.
