💼 About This Role

You'll lead post-training LLM development for autonomous driving applications at Waymo. You'll enhance instruction following and CoT thinking of large language models to solve complex driving tasks. You'll collaborate with world-class researchers and shape technical direction across ML, infra, and data teams.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Develop post-training methods for instruction following and CoT thinking.
• Apply fine-tuning, RL, and novel approaches to improve LLM for driving tasks.
• Collaborate with research teams to translate advances into production systems.
• Provide technical leadership across ML, infra, and data teams.

📋 Requirements

• Demonstrated experience developing post-training methods for LLM models.
• Extensive experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, JAX) and large-scale model training.
• Track record of operating under ambiguity and setting direction amid rapid research evolution.
• Experience applying LLMs or foundation models in complex, safety-critical domains.
