💼 About This Role

You'll join Waymo's Hardware Engineering team to design custom vehicle structures and trim for autonomous driving platforms. You'll collaborate with OEM partners and internal teams to integrate solutions that meet safety, cost, and performance targets. This role offers the chance to impact self-driving technology at a leading autonomous driving company.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Engineer custom vehicle structures and trim for Waymo vehicles
• Collaborate with OEM partners to co-define changes to base vehicle architecture
• Interface with internal teams (Styling, Product, Manufacturing, etc.) to engineer solutions
• Create trade matrices to compare design options based on weight, cost, and package volume

📋 Requirements

• 10 years of Product Design experience with multiple car platform launches
• Experience with vehicle structures and cosmetic A-Class components
• Proficiency in Catia V5/V6 for 3D and 2D production-ready designs
• Experience with manufacturing processes for metals, plastics, and composites

✨ Nice to Have

• Ability to read moldflow results for component and tooling design
• Experience with tool design or at an injection molding company
• Knowledge of PPAP quality process for automotive components
