Description
You will serve as the primary strategic data partner to GiveDirectly's fundraising and marketing teams, defining key metrics and building scalable data products to automate reporting and drive decision-making. You will work with AWS, Databricks, SQL, Python, and Tableau to transform data into actionable insights, while collaborating across departments to establish source-of-truth datasets. This remote role requires overlap with East Africa timezone and involves travel 2-3 times per year.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of fundraising model, donor lifecycle, and growth strategy
- Strong technical expertise in data modeling and transformation within a data lakehouse
- Proficiency in SQL for querying and data pipelines, Python for deeper analysis
- Experience with AWS, Databricks, and Tableau
- Ability to function as a senior individual contributor with significant autonomy
Responsibilities
- Set vision and priorities for data supporting fundraising and marketing strategy
- Define, standardize, and document core fundraising and marketing KPIs (retention, LTV, revenue forecasting)
- Design and build robust data models in the warehouse as source-of-truth for fundraising reporting
- Establish clear, trusted source-of-truth datasets and metric logic across Fundraising, Finance, and Leadership
- Identify recurring analytical needs and convert them into scalable, automated data products
