Description

You will design, build, and activate fluid and mechanical systems for Falcon 9 vehicle processing and launch support. You'll own critical ground support equipment from concept through activation, working hands-on with technicians to ensure 99%+ uptime for flight hardware integration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • 1+ years hands-on hardware fabrication, assembly, or testing
  • Experience with CAD and FEA software (e.g., NX, NASTRAN, ANSYS)
  • Ability to pass Air Force background check for Vandenberg SFB
  • Physical effort: standing, lifting 15-30 lbs

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and activate structural, fluid, and transport equipment for launch site vehicle processing
  • Support Stage 1, Stage 2, Fairing, and payload operations from Dockside to Launch
  • Perform hand calculations, FEA, and CAD to ensure hardware meets requirements
  • Lead design reviews and activation testing
  • Collaborate with technicians on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
