Description

You will design, implement, and manage the operational infrastructure of the Legal Department at a late-stage clinical oncology company, optimizing processes, managing budgets, implementing technology solutions, and ensuring compliance. This role aligns legal resources with scientific, clinical, and commercial objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; JD or MBA preferred
• 15+ years experience (or 13+ with master's, 10+ with JD) in legal operations or related field, with 5+ years in leadership
• Experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industry
• Proven track record of implementing legal technology and process improvements, including CLM systems

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the Legal Department's operational strategy in alignment with corporate goals
• Oversee the Legal Department budget, including forecasting, tracking, reporting, and managing outside counsel relationships
• Implement and manage legal technology solutions (e.g., CLM, e-billing, AI tools) and ensure system compliance
• Manage relationships with external legal service providers and develop performance evaluation processes
• Support compliance and risk management initiatives with biotech industry regulations
