💼 About This Role

You'll set the technical direction for Blacksmith's core infrastructure, including orchestrating millions of Firecracker VMs and managing a global fleet of bare-metal machines. You'll drive architectural decisions for critical platforms and be a force multiplier across the engineering team. This role offers the chance to shape the infrastructure behind a rapidly growing $10M+ ARR product.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Own and drive architectural direction for critical infrastructure platforms
• Translate business strategy into long-term technical roadmaps
• Ensure production reliability, performance, and operational excellence
• Mentor senior engineers and act as a force multiplier

📋 Requirements

• Deep familiarity with virtualization technologies like Firecracker or QEMU
• Experience with distributed storage systems (e.g., Ceph) and I/O tuning
• Comfort working at the kernel and filesystems level with eBPF or cgroups
• Track record of leading through influence as an individual contributor
