You'll design mechanical integration solutions for powertrain components on prototype aircraft, collaborating with aerothermal and structural analysts. Your work will directly impact the development of an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. You'll own the prototype development process from requirements through testing.
🎯 What You'll Do
- Design mechanical integration solutions for powertrain components on prototype aircraft
- Design detailed metallic parts and assemblies for powertrain mounting and structural interfaces
- Design inlet and exhaust ducting systems for turboshaft engines
- Collaborate with aerothermal and structural analysts to optimize designs
📋 Requirements
- 5+ years of engineering experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Exposure to integrating air breathing turbomachinery or propulsion systems
- Proficient in CAD (Solidworks, NX, etc.)
✨ Nice to Have
- Knowledge of electric powertrain systems or aerospace systems
- Part 23 Certification Experience or ARP4754A experience
- Experience supporting vehicle development from concept through certification
