Description

You will lead a distributed team of software engineers in delivering and maintaining all Linux kernels for the Ubuntu distribution. You'll oversee kernel aspects like hardware integration, security mitigation, and quality control, working with silicon/cloud partners and the open source community.

Requirements

• Significant programming experience in C; Python, Golang highly regarded
• Substantial experience with operating system kernel internals (Linux preferred)
• Demonstrated experience managing or leading a software engineering team
• Ability to coordinate between multiple teams with different technical focus
• Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills

Responsibilities

• Lead a distributed team of software engineers in delivering Linux kernels for Ubuntu
• Own aspects of Ubuntu Linux including hardware optimization, platform compatibility, quality control, and security mitigation
• Implement process automation for build, test, and delivery of the Linux kernel
• Collaborate with other teams at Canonical, open source community, and commercial partners
