💼 About This Role

You'll support and extend open science strategy across internal programs and external partnerships, working closely with the Head of Open Science. You will serve as first point of contact for community members and tool builders, and ensure ideas and relationships are tracked effectively. This role is ideal for strong operators who thrive in ambiguity and enjoy translating vision into execution.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Support Head of Open Science with day-to-day operations and tracking.
• Conduct initial screening conversations for open science proposals.
• Serve as liaison between Astera and open science community members.
• Attend meetings and events on behalf of the Head of Open Science.

📋 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• 1–4 years experience in program coordination, operations, or community management in open science or adjacent fields.
• Demonstrated familiarity with open science concepts (open access, open data, preprints, etc.).
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple workstreams and follow through reliably.

• Prior experience conducting interviews, evaluating proposals, or supporting hiring.
• Comfort synthesizing complex information into clear summaries.
