💼 About This Role

You'll partner with artists and engineers to define and maintain the visual look of game assets and environments in real-time engines. Your core impact will be developing shaders, materials, and lighting workflows that achieve ambitious visual targets while keeping content performant. This role offers a remote-first workplace with a focus on look development and visual consistency.

🎯 What You'll Do

  • Partner with artists and art direction to define and maintain visual look of assets in-engine.
  • Develop and support real-time shaders, materials, and material workflows.
  • Support lighting workflows including setup, iteration, and optimization.
  • Ensure visual consistency across assets, environments, and scenes through shared standards.

📋 Requirements

  • Strong understanding of real-time rendering principles and game art pipelines.
  • Experience developing or authoring shaders and materials for real-time engines.
  • Solid artistic eye for lighting, color, composition, and surface response.
  • Familiarity with physically based rendering (PBR) workflows.

✨ Nice to Have

  • Experience with shader graph tools and low-level shader languages (e.g. HLSL).
  • Experience with Unity, Unreal, or similar real-time engines.
  • Knowledge of performance profiling and optimization for lighting and materials.
