You'll partner with artists and engineers to define and maintain the visual look of game assets and environments in real-time engines. Your core impact will be developing shaders, materials, and lighting workflows that achieve ambitious visual targets while keeping content performant. This role offers a remote-first workplace with a focus on look development and visual consistency.
🎯 What You'll Do
- Partner with artists and art direction to define and maintain visual look of assets in-engine.
- Develop and support real-time shaders, materials, and material workflows.
- Support lighting workflows including setup, iteration, and optimization.
- Ensure visual consistency across assets, environments, and scenes through shared standards.
📋 Requirements
- Strong understanding of real-time rendering principles and game art pipelines.
- Experience developing or authoring shaders and materials for real-time engines.
- Solid artistic eye for lighting, color, composition, and surface response.
- Familiarity with physically based rendering (PBR) workflows.
✨ Nice to Have
- Experience with shader graph tools and low-level shader languages (e.g. HLSL).
- Experience with Unity, Unreal, or similar real-time engines.
- Knowledge of performance profiling and optimization for lighting and materials.
