๐ผ About This Role
You'll design, specify, and integrate vacuum systems for laser-driven fusion experiments at a leading clean energy startup. Your work will directly impact the development of large-scale vacuum infrastructure and reactor-relevant environments, bridging small-scale experiments to facility-level deployment.
๐ฏ What You'll Do
- Design and specify vacuum systems for experimental and large-scale setups.
- Select pumps, valves, gauges, seals, and vacuum-compatible materials.
- Integrate vacuum systems with laser, diagnostic, and facility infrastructure.
- Support commissioning, leak testing, and performance validation.
๐ Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
- 3โ10+ years of experience with vacuum systems.
- Strong understanding of vacuum physics (flow regimes, outgassing, conductance).
- Hands-on experience with leak detection and troubleshooting.
โจ Nice to Have
- Experience with high-energy physics, fusion, semiconductor, or laser systems.
- Knowledge of large or complex distributed vacuum systems.
- Familiarity with cleanroom environments and UHV/XHV systems.
