💼 About This Role

You'll own the technical backbone for Amplitude's cost visibility across major vendors like AWS, GCP, and observability tools. You'll design and build systems, implement optimizations, and lead cross-functional initiatives to turn cost data into real savings. This role blends hands-on engineering with program driving in a high-impact, autonomous position.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Own and maintain cost vendor data pipelines and models.
• Partner with teams to translate cost signals into savings.
• Implement cost optimizations directly on cloud workloads.
• Build self-service FinOps dashboards and tooling.
• Establish cost guardrails in infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD.

📋 Requirements

• 7+ years of FinOps, SRE, Platform, or Infrastructure engineering.
• Track record of reducing cloud spend in modern environment (AWS).
• Proficient in production-quality code (Python, TypeScript).
• Experience with cost usage data (AWS CUR, vendor exports).

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with observability billing data (Datadog, etc.).
• Knowledge of financial concepts like budgets and unit economics.
• Led cross-functional optimization programs.
