💼 About This Role

You'll drive the technical architecture and implementation of core services for evaluation workflows at Waymo, an autonomous driving technology company. Your work will enable evaluation engineers to author, manage, and execute evaluation workflows at scale. You'll collaborate cross-functionally to translate ambiguous requirements into clean, well-documented, and easy-to-use API contracts.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design and implement core authoring APIs for evaluation workflows
• Collaborate with eval developers and infra teams on API contracts
• Ensure APIs are computationally efficient and highly reliable
• Mentor junior engineers and champion best practices

📋 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience
• Experience building scalable distributed systems and developer-facing APIs
• Proficiency in C++ or Python

• Experience designing API-centric systems for internal developer platforms
• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Familiarity with evaluation or machine learning systems
