Description

You will build backend services and internal tools to help Chime manage credit risk across products like Loans, MyPay, and SpotMe. You'll partner with risk, product, and data science teams to create a shared platform for risk decisioning, monitoring, and controls, integrating third-party data sources. Your work will directly impact member experiences and credit outcomes.

Requirements

• 3+ years developing software in a production environment
• Experience with Ruby on Rails or comparable frameworks, building and operating APIs
• Experience with relational databases and caching systems, writing safe schema changes and migrations
• Familiarity with distributed systems fundamentals (async processing, idempotency, retries, backfills)
• Strong appreciation for maintainable, well-tested code and incremental delivery

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and tools for risk strategy across multiple credit products
• Build reusable platform primitives to accelerate new credit product launches
• Create workflows for Credit Risk teams to adjust strategies with proper guardrails and reviews
• Integrate third-party data sources for decisioning and monitoring with validation and error handling
• Add instrumentation, dashboards, and alerts for risk signals and participate in on-call rotation
