Description

You will architect, design, analyze, prototype, and produce vehicle structures for robotic systems that eliminate herbicides. As part of a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team, you'll own major elements of primary structures, body panels, and suspension integration, mentor junior engineers, and support production builds.

Requirements

• 5+ years designing, testing, producing complex mechanical/structural parts in automotive, agricultural, aerospace or equivalent
• High proficiency in Solidworks and Ansys Mechanical/Motion
• Extensive knowledge of FEA simulation configuration and result interpretation
• Experience analyzing structural hardware for fatigue, durability, field reliability
• Experience designing sheet metal, machined, weldments, thermoplastic, composite parts for harsh outdoor environments

Responsibilities

• Own architecture, design, analysis, testing, and support of robotic vehicle primary structures, body panels, and suspension/steering integration
• Define requirements for and lead structural qualification testing
• Lead initial production builds with manufacturing team in Richland, WA
• Own Standards and Compliance scoping and documentation
• Mentor junior engineers
