Description

You will work to measure and understand AI's effects on the global economy, contributing to the Anthropic Economic Index. Using privacy-preserving tools and novel data sources, you'll apply econometrics, machine learning, and structural estimation to drive policy discussions and inform internal decisions.

Requirements

• PhD in Economics
• Strong track record in empirical research combining novel data sources and economic theory
• Experience studying AI's impact on economy (labor, tasks, data analysis, etc.)
• Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, or similar tools for large-scale data analysis
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex research projects and communicate to diverse audiences

Responsibilities

• Develop and expand the Anthropic Economic Index with quarterly reports and industry deep dives
• Design and conduct empirical research on AI's economic effects using external and internal data
• Develop causal-inference tooling for downstream economic consequences of Anthropic's decisions
• Build relationships with academic institutions, policy think tanks, and research partners
• Translate research insights into actionable recommendations for product and policy discussions
