Description

You will build and scale a proactive safety program across labs, fabrication, marine operations, and pilot manufacturing. Partner with engineers and technicians to embed safety into design and daily work, enabling progress while managing risk.

Requirements

• 7+ years EHS experience in engineering, R&D, industrial, fabrication, or manufacturing environments
• Proven ability to build or scale safety programs in fast-changing contexts
• Strong technical understanding of OSHA regulations and risk assessment methodologies
• Experience with high-voltage electrical safety (NFPA 70E, arc flash, LOTO, safe energized work)
• Working knowledge of lithium-ion battery safety (storage, thermal runaway, hazardous waste)

Responsibilities

• Lead rollout of Safety Principles across labs, shops, docks, and test environments
• Build a transparent safety management system for inspections, near misses, and incidents
• Create structured training frameworks for fabrication, marine ops, electrical, lab, and pilot manufacturing
• Integrate safety into design and engineering via reviews and assessment criteria
• Lead incident investigations and drive corrective/preventive actions
