You'll support Anduril's Materials Engineering team by selecting and evaluating polymeric materials for defense technology products. Your core impact is ensuring material reliability and manufacturability for advanced systems. This role offers ownership of material characterization and mentorship of junior engineers.
π― What You'll Do
- Select and evaluate polymeric materials for diverse applications.
- Conduct material characterizations using thermal, spectroscopic, and mechanical testing.
- Drive supplier development and qualification for injection molding plastics.
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to address material challenges.
π Requirements
- Bachelorβs or higher in Materials Engineering or related field.
- 6-8 years industry experience with thermoplastics or adhesives.
- Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles for thermoplastics.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
β¨ Nice to Have
- Expertise in injection molding plastics selection and development.
- Familiarity with CAD software and materials simulation tools (e.g., Moldflow).
- Working knowledge of manufacturing and process substantiation.
