💼 About This Role

You'll design and build backend services for the Cockpit platform that move satellite payload data from ground stations to customers, ensuring data correctness and reliability. You'll own microservices and data pipelines that turn raw on-orbit data into usable products, collaborating with ops teams to scale distributed systems. As part of SatDevOps, you'll operate the spacecraft you build tools for.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design and build backend services for data ingest, processing, and delivery.
• Implement and improve data pipelines and APIs with focus on correctness and reliability.
• Own and evolve backend components such as connectors, processing jobs, and delivery services.
• Collaborate with Cockpit teams and stakeholders to ensure smooth on-orbit tasking and ground data flows.

📋 Requirements

• Strong Python development experience in a production environment.
• Experience with Docker and container-based development.
• Hands-on experience with backend web frameworks like Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
• Proven API design skills (HTTP/GraphQL/REST-style APIs).

• Experience with Django and/or GraphQL.
• Exposure to message-oriented middleware or event streaming (e.g., NATS, NATS JetStream).
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud-native deployments (GCP/AWS).
