Description

You will read and interpret engineering drawings to design tooling for machining and fabrication using CAD (NX). You'll apply GD&T and math to create models and drawings, collaborate with engineers, and support turbomachinery repair and manufacturing.

Requirements

• BS in Engineering or commensurate years of experience in a relevant discipline.
• Proficient in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) with modeling skills using NX.
• Minimum 3 years of experience interpreting and applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) for tool fixture design.
• Apply machining theory, mechanical systems, welding, and assembly to design tooling for turbomachinery repair and manufacturing.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain DOD clearance.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret conceptual designs, drawings, blueprints, engineering orders, and sketches to layout tool designs using CAD systems.
• Perform mathematical calculations using shop math (geometric and trigonometric formulas) to compute dimensions, angles, and machining guidelines.
• Design production, engineering, and developmental tools for machining, fabrication, and processing of metals, plastics, ceramics, and composites.
• Coordinate tool requisition, design changes, and modifications with Tool Engineers and Product Definition Engineers.
• Assist shop personnel in understanding tool design drawings.
