💼 About This Role
You'll provide sustaining materials engineering support for production and development programs at Ursa Major, enabling the design and delivery of advanced propulsion systems. Your work will directly impact failure analysis, materials selection, and manufacturing process development for critical aerospace applications. You'll also help build out a small internal materials lab to tackle design and test challenges.
🎯 What You'll Do
- Support materials selection, failure analysis, and process development
- Author and maintain materials standards and specifications
- Coordinate materials testing for development and production needs
- Establish materials requirements for future programs
- Develop design allowables for additive manufactured materials
📋 Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering
- 5+ years in metals materials engineering in aerospace
- Experience with forgings, additive, or wrought product
- Experience with MMPDS standards for materials data analysis
- Knowledge of aerospace metals like nickel alloys, stainless steel, aluminum, titanium

- Master's degree in Materials Science
- Experience with failure analysis and metallography
- Knowledge of laser powder bed fusion additive processes
