Description

As a Special Education Teacher (Student Support Coordinator) at Brooke Charter Schools, you will build strong relationships with students, teach daily support classes in math, science, life skills, and/or literacy, and oversee IEPs and 504 plans. You'll collaborate with colleagues in data meetings and professional development to ensure every student's accommodations and intervention plans are met.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in special education or special education teaching license
• Working knowledge of federal and state special education laws
• At least 2 years as a lead teacher
• Professional, warm, and collaborative with students, families, and colleagues
• Commitment to fostering diversity and anti-racist practices

Responsibilities

• Teach daily support classes in math, science, life skills, and/or literacy
• Oversee drafting, implementation, and maintenance of IEPs and 504 plans
• Co-lead child study team meetings
• Coordinate standardized test accommodations and special education screenings
• Participate in regular data meetings and professional development
