Description

As a Senior Propulsion Engineer at Relativity Space, you will drive engine system architecture and concept of operations trades, manage engine interfaces, negotiate requirements, and support engine system development for the Terran R rocket. This role involves deep technical work at the system level, including analysis, simulation, testing, and tool development, with the opportunity to shape the future of launch vehicles.

Requirements

• Experience applying engineering fundamentals in fluid mechanics and thermodynamics
• Clear evidence of ownership, problem-solving skills, and effective team collaboration
• Demonstrated drive to deliver on ambitious schedules, including creative solutions
• Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, technology, or mathematics
• Ability to travel ~15% and occasionally work shifted schedules or weekends

Responsibilities

• Drive engine system architecture and CONOPS trades
• Manage engine interfaces and negotiate requirements to optimize vehicle integration
• Support engine system development, analysis, simulation, and testing
• Develop tools for propulsion system design and qualification
• Lead collaborative projects to completion with minimal oversight
