Description
You will join the Launch Pad Engineering Team at Vandenberg to develop solutions for launch pad operations, ensuring ground support equipment is properly configured and tested. You'll address structural and mechanical issues, lead troubleshooting during operations, and drive continuous improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, computer science, or other engineering discipline
- 5+ years of experience with electro-mechanical hardware
- Ability to pass Air Force background check
- Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and in extreme environments
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs., work at heights up to 300 feet
Responsibilities
- Serve as responsible engineer for launch pad mechanical systems and structures
- Use FEM software (ANSYS, FEMAP) and hand calculations to facilitate design and issue disposition
- Direct technician workforce for troubleshooting, maintenance, and operational procedures
- Develop post-launch data review for respective systems
- Present certification packages to government agencies (NASA, US Air Force)
