You'll define and mature the CONOPS for post-flight recovery, refurbishment, and return-to-flight of reusable launch vehicle elements. You'll enable safe, repeatable, and cost-efficient reuse by embedding recovery considerations into vehicle design and ground operations. This role directly impacts the operability and cost efficiency of a cutting-edge aerospace program.
๐ฏ What You'll Do
- Define and evolve recovery CONOPS from landing through return-to-flight
- Evaluate launch sites and landing zones for recovery feasibility
- Specify recovery ground support equipment like cranes and transport frames
- Define refurbishment processes including inspection and turnaround timelines
๐ Requirements
- Engineering degree in aerospace, mechanical, or related field
- 5โ10+ years in launch vehicle or recovery programs
- Proven knowledge of transport and handling of large aerospace hardware
- Direct involvement in designing end-to-end CONOPS for recovery and refurbishment
โจ Nice to Have
- Experience with aircraft or launch vehicle refurbishment
- Familiarity with operational cost models
- German language skills
