Description

You will design, develop, and maintain back-end components of a B2B SaaS product using the MERN stack and cloud infrastructure. You'll collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver high-quality software solutions in a fast-paced startup environment.

Requirements

• Software coding craftsmanship and hands-on coder
• 2+ years of experience in hard-core software product development
• Experience with product companies is an important requirement
• Strong computer science fundamentals
• Hands-on backend web development experience
• Strong understanding of back-end technologies such as Node.js and Express.js
• Experience with Ruby on Rails would be a plus
• Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus
• Exposure to MongoDB or other NoSQL databases is advantageous
• Exposure to cloud-based infrastructure, preferably AWS services, and a strong desire to learn about scalable and secure system development
• Proficiency in version control systems (e.g., Git) and experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Strong inclination for end-to-end product ownership
• Have a penchant for high-quality and timely product delivery
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and a willingness to work in an Agile development environment
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a passion for writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code
• Undaunted by ambiguity and ability to solve complex problems
• Strong interest in exploring emerging tech to enable business growth
• Experience working on B2B SaaS products would be highly valuable
• Understands and works towards customer delight and comprehensive customer experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and influencing skills
• Engineering degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Must be AI tech-savvy — actively using AI tools to improve productivity, write better code, and automate workflows
• Hands-on experience or regular use of tools like Cursor, Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, or similar is highly valued
• Proactive in leveraging emerging technologies (including AI) to drive faster, smarter development and solve real product challenges

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development team, product managers, and designers to understand business requirements and contribute to technical specifications and software solutions
• Assist in designing, developing, testing, and deploying back-end components of web applications using the MERN stack
• Work with front-end engineers to develop APIs that facilitate smooth data flow and system interoperability
• Optimize code, conduct testing, and following best practices to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of the application
• Learn and contribute to the development and maintenance of cloud-based infrastructure, preferably using AWS services, ensuring scalability, high availability, and disaster recovery
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches and provide support when needed
• Participate actively in Agile development practices, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
• Contribute to the refinement of user stories, provide effort estimations, and prioritize tasks to ensure timely delivery
• Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality, receive constructive feedback, and adhere to best practices
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies, evaluating their potential benefits for the product and the development team
• Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements and implementing approved changes
