Description

As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will lead the implementation of a test automation strategy using AI and tooling, covering the entire testing pyramid. You'll work closely with the product engineering team to build and maintain automation coverage, improve frameworks, and integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines. Your work will ensure high-quality software for Airbnb's global community.

Requirements

• 5+ years of industry experience in software testing and automation
• Demonstrable knowledge in at least one programming language (e.g., Kotlin, Java) and strong scripting skills
• Strong knowledge of test automation methodologies, tools, and frameworks
• Strong hands-on experience with automation frameworks (e.g., Espresso)
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Buildkite, Spinnaker, Jenkins) and version control systems (Git)
• Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
• Expertise in solving ambiguous problems and multi-team integrations
• Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent
• Fluency in English

Responsibilities

• Leverage AI and tooling to implement test automation strategy covering unit, service, integration, and end-to-end testing
• Build, maintain, and utilize automated tests; collaborate with engineering teams for robust test coverage
• Improve existing automation frameworks to support new functionalities and optimize quality
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
• Troubleshoot issues, isolate bugs, verify fixes
• Work with cross-functional teams in fast-paced environment with short release cycles
