💼 About This Role

You'll own platform and infrastructure at Stream, a real-time API platform serving billions of users. You'll drive cloud cost optimization, platform reliability, and architecture evolution while coding alongside a small senior team. This is a hands-on role reporting directly to the CTO.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Identify and eliminate cloud waste, building cost guardrails
• Define and improve SLOs and observability for core platform
• Evaluate and drive Kubernetes, database, and cloud provider decisions

📋 Requirements

• Software engineering background with Go or Python coding experience
• Deep AWS or GCP production ownership and cost optimization track record
• Distributed systems and database architecture decision-making
• Hands-on leadership — leading projects and PRs in a small team

• Kubernetes at meaningful production scale
• Cloud migration experience
• Open source contributions to infra or platform tooling
