Description

Lead the embedded software team at a robotics startup building the first fully autonomous manicure machine. You will own the firmware architecture, drive best practices, and act as a key liaison across departments to scale the product from launch to fleet.

Requirements

• 7+ years of total experience in embedded software engineering
• At least 2 years in a formal management role overseeing direct reports
• Player/Coach mentality
• Proven background in robotics and embedded software
• Experience with motion control systems and computer vision integration preferred
• Deep expertise in developing production code in C/C++ in a resource-constrained environment on Linux or RTOS

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of embedded software engineers in a player/coach dynamic
• Own the long-term technical architecture and roadmap for embedded firmware and control software
• Ensure designs meet requirements for real-time performance, reliability, security, and scalability
• Serve as primary liaison between embedded team and other departments (Computer Vision, Mechanical, DevOps, Cloud)
• Translate high-level product features into actionable technical specifications and project plans
• Lead planning and execution of large embedded projects (firmware updates, OTA, motion control upgrades) across sprints
• Drive adoption of best practices including code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD for firmware, and system monitoring
