Description

You will perform engineering system studies to ensure reliable electricity flow, including seasonal reliability assessments, thermal, voltage, and transient stability studies. You will also support compliance with NERC and NPCC standards, maintain power system models, and provide technical oversight to associate engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required, Master's preferred
• Seven years of related industry experience in power systems
• Proficiency in power system software (PSS/e or PSLF) and fault current assessment software (ASPEN One-Liner)
• Ability to apply advanced calculus, statistics, and principles of logical thinking to technical problems
• Ability to write reports, deliver presentations, and communicate with various groups

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical engineering system studies including seasonal reliability, thermal, voltage, transient stability, short circuit, and inter-regional transfer analysis
• Conduct detailed analysis of system events and disturbances for compliance with NERC, NPCC, and NYSRC standards
• Maintain detailed electric power system models for NYCA using accurate system representation
• Review NYISO controlled facilities and standards for protective relay systems installation, maintenance, and testing
• Provide technical oversight to Associate Engineers
