You'll create models and simulations of cutting-edge pulsed power electrical and mechanical systems using multi-physics and electromagnetics solvers. You'll work with a multidisciplinary team to optimize system design and validate models against real-world data. This role offers the chance to impact the future of inertial fusion energy and clean power generation.
๐ฏ What You'll Do
- Work with pulsed power design engineers to generate models of systems and components.
- Create, optimize and validate models of complex physical processes and phenomena.
- Design experiments for validation of models against real-world data.
- Enhance workflow from concept to final print based on simulation optimizations.
๐ Requirements
- B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 2+ years of experience with field solver/particle-in-cell/circuit simulation codes
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
โจ Nice to Have
- Proficiency in COMSOL, CST and/or LT-SPICE
- Proficiency in solid-modeling software like SolidWorks or NX
- Proficiency with Python and/or MATLAB
