💼 About This Role

You'll lead the architecture and technical vision for Internal Access Management at Confluent, focusing on distributed systems and cloud security. You'll partner with Security and Engineering to define access policies and zero-trust models across Kubernetes and multi-cloud environments.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Define long-term architecture for Internal Access Management across Kubernetes and multi-cloud.
• Architect least privilege, just-in-time access, and zero-trust models.
• Build scalable access-authorization workflows using OPA, cloud IAM, and workload identity.
• Strengthen security boundaries with threat modeling and auditing capabilities.

📋 Requirements

• 10+ years of engineering experience with 4+ years in security/IAM/distributed systems.
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes, workload identity, and cloud IAM (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Strong understanding of authentication technologies: IAM, OAuth2, OIDC, policy engines.
• Proven track record leading multi-team technical initiatives at Staff or Senior Staff level.
