Description

You will build large-scale platform products and services for Roku's streaming ecosystem, working with product and design teams to take concepts from ideation to production. You'll lead technology evaluations, drive best practices, and manage project priorities.

Requirements

• 8+ years building large-scale distributed systems
• 5+ years working with cloud-based platforms and infrastructure
• Deep understanding of system concepts like eventual consistency and CAP theorem
• Experience leading design and implementation of backend services with Java and container platforms (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Hands-on experience with databases like Aurora MySQL and DynamoDB, and AWS services (ALB, ECS, RDS)

Responsibilities

• Build extremely large-scale platform products and services used by Roku engineers and consumers
• Work with Product/Design teams to iterate and build software from ideation to deployment
• Lead evaluation of new technologies and best practices across development lifecycle
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
• Participate in Agile development including scoping, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance
