💼 About This Role

You'll serve as a key subject matter expert on accounting policy and financial reporting for the Wikimedia Foundation. You will lead components of the annual audit and Form 990 preparation while providing technical accounting guidance across the organization. This role is fully remote and supports the Wikimedia Endowment as well.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Simplify complex financial accounting concepts into actionable strategies.
• Maintain and improve accounting and financial governance policies.
• Lead key components of annual financial audits.
• Support preparation of Form 990 financial reporting.

📋 Requirements

• Active CPA license required.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance plus 8+ years of relevant experience including public accounting.
• Solid understanding of US GAAP and nonprofit accounting.
• Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) including designing and testing internal controls.

• Experience supporting audited financial statements or Form 990 preparation.
• Experience with COSO standards for internal controls.
