Description

You will lead the drafting, structuring, and negotiating of complex commercial contracts with customers and partners in the automotive and mobility ecosystems. You will be a trusted advisor to leadership on legal matters and collaborate cross-functionally to support Sales, Product, and Engineering. As the first attorney in Asia, you will also help develop scalable legal operations processes.

Requirements

• Qualification to practice law in Japan (Bengoshi) or equivalent; J.D. or LL.M. preferred with U.S. bar admission
• Fluency in English and Japanese (written and verbal)
• Experience structuring, drafting, and negotiating complex commercial agreements including software licenses, strategic partnerships, and joint development agreements
• 5+ years of experience in tech transactions
• Fast-paced sales environment experience with strong organizational skills and deadline management

Responsibilities

• Lead drafting, structuring, and negotiating of complex commercial contracts with automotive OEMs, AV startups, and mobility ecosystem players
• Serve as trusted advisor to leadership on legal matters critical to business growth
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Product, Engineering on key initiatives
• Support IP, Product, and Compliance activities as needed
• Develop forms, playbooks, training, and scalable legal operations processes
