Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience teaching, tutoring, or working with children across various age groups
- New York State Teacher Assistant Certification
- Familiarity with high-quality instructional and curriculum programs
- Ability to attend occasional evening events
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications
- Strong ability to engage and motivate students
- Commitment to maintaining safe, inclusive, responsive learning environment
- Demonstrated ability to build trusting relationships
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
- Successful completion of fingerprinting and reference check
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Responsibilities
- Contribute to planning and delivering rigorous and engaging high-dose tutoring support
- Assist in implementation of coherent, research-based intervention and supports
- Use consistent school-wide practices and individualized methods to engage students
- Modify, differentiate and extend learning experiences to engage all students
- Support assessment of student learning with formative and summative assessments
- Provide ongoing feedback to students on progress
- Use student data to improve instruction
- Monitor student behavior during lunch and recess coverage
- Encourage development of core values
- Contribute to a warm and firm learning environment
- Model and reinforce developmentally-appropriate rules and behaviors
- Support implementation of behavioral management plans
- Build positive partnerships with families
- Communicate with families about instructional programs and student progress
- Model life-long learning through professional development
- Show evidence of utilizing constructive feedback
