Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience teaching, tutoring, or working with children across various age groups
  • New York State Teacher Assistant Certification
  • Familiarity with high-quality instructional and curriculum programs
  • Ability to attend occasional evening events
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications
  • Strong ability to engage and motivate students
  • Commitment to maintaining safe, inclusive, responsive learning environment
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusting relationships
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Successful completion of fingerprinting and reference check
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to planning and delivering rigorous and engaging high-dose tutoring support
  • Assist in implementation of coherent, research-based intervention and supports
  • Use consistent school-wide practices and individualized methods to engage students
  • Modify, differentiate and extend learning experiences to engage all students
  • Support assessment of student learning with formative and summative assessments
  • Provide ongoing feedback to students on progress
  • Use student data to improve instruction
  • Monitor student behavior during lunch and recess coverage
  • Encourage development of core values
  • Contribute to a warm and firm learning environment
  • Model and reinforce developmentally-appropriate rules and behaviors
  • Support implementation of behavioral management plans
  • Build positive partnerships with families
  • Communicate with families about instructional programs and student progress
