Description

You will lead automated testing design and implementation across our platform, ensuring reliability and quality in a digital business where uptime and user experience are critical. Working with Engineering and Product teams, you'll shape test strategies, mentor QA engineers, and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Probably a degree in a STEM subject, but alternative routes considered
• Experience at a similar level in a mature Engineering team
• Technical expertise in designing, building, and scaling automated test frameworks using modern tools (ideally Cypress or Playwright)
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, or Java
• Ability to architect automation solutions across frontend, backend, and APIs for maintainability, scalability, and fast feedback in CI/CD pipelines
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, data validation (SQL/NoSQL), and test integration within microservice-based architectures
• Proven track record of demonstrable impact in previous roles
• Highly driven and proactive
• Meticulous with strong attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of automated test plans, suites, and frameworks across multiple projects
• Mentor and guide junior QA engineers, helping them develop automation skills
• Maintain and scale test automation infrastructure supporting CI/CD pipelines and cross-platform validation
• Perform targeted manual testing including exploratory testing, edge-case validation, and UI/UX verification
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and testing priorities
• Drive cross-team initiatives to improve QA processes, testing tools, and engineering quality standards
• Monitor, triage, and investigate test failures, raising clear bugs and ensuring timely resolution
• Provide feedback on UI/UX enhancements and ensure automated tests reflect real user flows
• Influence technical strategy related to performance, load, and security testing
