Description
You will serve as a core research specialist for the Old Master Paintings department in New York, managing research workflow and producing high-level cataloguing for auctions and private sales. You will collaborate with colleagues globally and ensure exceptional client service.
Requirements
- Specialist knowledge of Old Master Paintings and Restitution
- Degree holder or equivalent (Old Masters related MA or PhD preferable)
- Ability to effectively access archives and reference sources
- Commitment to client service, flexible and receptive to change
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Responsibilities
- Support department with research, photography, and condition reporting for Old Master Painting deadlines
- Provide guidance and support to junior specialists in research, appraisals, and business development
- Work on catalogue production including proof-reading, design, and layout
- Source property through travel and client visits as appropriate
- Maintain high-level client service and facilitate high-level private treaty sales
