Description

In this role, you will self-perform and direct project teams in the planning and design of construction projects, as well as manage client relationships. You will also contribute to strategic initiatives that drive the growth of the construction group.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • PE License or ability to obtain strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in a construction role.
  • Project leadership experience is a plus.
  • Prior experience working with State DOTs, cities, counties, or local municipalities preferred.
  • Excellent communication and intrapersonal skills.
  • Strong organization and ability to perform services efficiently and within budgets and schedules.
  • Ability to work outside on foot for extended periods of time.
  • Willingness to be flexible with variable work shifts during the work week.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
  • Good driving record and valid driver's license.
  • Collaborative approach that can mentor less experienced staff and build relationships.
  • Ability and drive to support business development activities with new and existing clients.

Responsibilities

  • Review and assure project supervisor of the adequacy of budget and schedule.
  • Perform construction observation of construction activities and follow applicable project procedures.
  • Perform measurements of construction work performed and quantity calculations of pay items.
  • Prepare Daily Work Reports, Engineer Diaries, and other project documentation.
  • Report to the project supervisor on the progress of work, including technical issues and status.
  • Review plans, specifications, and submittals relating to assigned work.
  • Provide design or other professional assistance to project managers.
  • Maintain company-owned vehicle or other equipment assigned for use on the project.
  • Expand construction service lines in new market sectors by building relationships, mentoring staff, and serving in key project leadership roles.
