Description

You will lead insurance accounting and reporting operations, ensuring GAAP and statutory compliance while driving automation and scalability. Your role involves overseeing financial close, statutory filings, and reinsurance accounting, and partnering with cross-functional teams to support Cowbell's growth in cyber insurance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required
• 5-7 years of accounting experience, including insurance or financial services
• Strong technical expertise in U.S. GAAP and insurance/statutory accounting frameworks
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and insurance company reporting processes
• Audit experience with insurance industry clients strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely financial reporting under U.S. GAAP, oversee monthly/quarterly close and consolidations
• Lead statutory accounting and preparation of quarterly/annual statutory financial statements and regulatory filings
• Oversee insurance accounting for premium, loss reserves, reinsurance, and balance sheet accounts, reconciling GAAP and statutory results
• Coordinate periodic reporting and settlement deliverables to fronting and reinsurance partners, ensuring contractual compliance
• Build scalable accounting processes, drive automation in ERP and insurance accounting workflows (e.g., NetSuite)
