Requirements

• 12+ years building and operating large-scale distributed systems
• Proven track record leading cross-team architectural initiatives to production
• Deep expertise in event-driven architectures, durable state, and distributed coordination
• Experience with messaging systems like Kafka, change data capture, and replication
• Strong communication skills to articulate complex technical tradeoffs

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural strategy across data engineering domains
• Establish consistent architectural patterns for durability and replaceability
• Drive adoption of canonical solutions for eventing, governance, and query abstraction
• Guide technical decisions on distributed coordination, replay semantics, and cross-region resiliency
• Influence engineering leaders and senior engineers to align around shared standards
